The Springfield-Greene County Park Board is again offering discount tickets (either single day or season passes) to three big Branson attractions: Silver Dollar City, White Water, and the Showboat Branson Belle. They also have discounted passes for other Show Me State attractions: KC's Worlds of Fun & Oceans of Fun, Six Flags St. Louis, and Big Surf (near Lake of the Ozarks).

Silver Dollar City's Bluegrass and BBQ Festival Begins Today

Just a reminder that today is the first day of the Bluegrass and BBQ Festival. If you want to make sure you get prime seats for the many bluegrass acts, without having to wait in line, you might consider purchasing a Show Lovers Pass at the park for $10 (which includes a free souvenir mug).

Silver Dollar City: 2 Days for the Price of 1

Having mentioned the Bluegrass and BBQ festival which is beginning soon, I wanted to let you know about a deal available from Reserve Branson for 2 day tickets to Silver Dollar City for the price of one. Silver Dollar City's Bluegrass and BBQ

Silver Dollar City's alliterative festival celebrating two of my favorite things is almost upon us. It will begin this Wednesday, May 13 and run through May 31.

Among the Bluegrass performers this year will be recent award winners such as The Grascals, Rhonda Vincent, and Nothin' Fancy. They have many more performers lined up and a glance at the concert schedule shows that there is no bad day to attend.

You'll also get a chance to watch some up and coming talent compete in the KSMU Youth in Bluegrass Band Concert and the Third Annual Single Mic Championship.

There will likely be at least one more big name group added to the schedule, so stay tuned for updates.

Now, for the second B in the festival...BBQ! The House of BBQ will be open again this year in the Red Gold Heritage Hall serving beef brisket, pulled pork, slow smoked chicken, and St. Louis style ribs with all the fixins.

For those of you who have ridden Fire in the Hole, you may enjoy this animated version of it. Whoever created it did a pretty good job even going so far as to use the actual audio from the ride. A nice weekday diversion for anyone who wishes they could be at Silver Dollar City rather than at a desk.
