There are many places you can go in Branson to be fed fish, but did you know that there is a place you can go to feed fish?
Yes, you can turn the tables on the traditional dining arrangement between yourself and fish by making a visit to the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery. The hatchery, operated by Missouri's Department of Conservation, is located on Highway 165 just north of the dam. There is no admission cost to tour this facility, which produces over one million catchable trout annually. With the investment of a few quarters you can also allow your kids, or your family members who are kids at heart, to feed the fish.
Once you are done touring and feeding, the hatchery also offers four nature trails so you can get some exercise while enjoying the scenic Ozarks.
Over the summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day) the hatchery is open 9-6. Guided tours are available on weekdays at 10:00, 11:00, 1:00, and 2:00. Self-guided tours are always available while the facility is open.
