So declares the
Springfield News-Leader today. With so much to do on dry land in
Branson, it is sometimes easy to think of the surrounding lakes as simply large props in the often awe-inspiring Ozarks scenes. While they are this, they also offer a range of activities for visitors: trout fishing in Lake
Taneycomo, bass fishing in Table Rock Lake, boating, skiing, tubing, swimming, cruises...the list goes on.
The News-Leader article
describes how those planning to enjoy Table Rock Lake will find a number of upgrades done as part of the rebuilding from last year's flood damage, including:
- $4.2 million in renovation at Corps of Engineer campgrounds
- Expansion and renovation of several public docks
- $4 million renovation of the Hideaway and Cape Fair marinas
A few additional highlights of the article: all public launch ramps are open, the Mill Creek campground is still being worked on but will open July 1, and Moonshine Beach should open by Memorial Day.
